Sept 2022- On board the QM2 to perform Gershwin's ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ with the National Symphony Orchestra.
May 2022 - Performing with the National Symphony Orchestra, under the leadership of composer and conductor Debbie Wiseman OBE, to perform at the Royal Windsor Horse ShoW.
Katherine Rockhill attended the Royal College of Music in London, where she was a Foundation Scholar, Major Prize-Winner and Junior Fellow. Upon graduating, she won the RCM's most prestigious award, the Tagore Medal, which was presented to her by HRH the Prince of Wales. At the personal request of Prince Charles, Katherine has twice performed at Sandringham House.
Katherine has appeared on BBC Television, BBC Radio and Classic FM and performed at the Purcell Room, Wigmore Hall, Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall and the Queen Elizabeth Hall. She has toured extensively with internationally renowned flautist, Susan Milan including concerts in the United States, Australia and South Korea. In 1998 Katherine was the pianist for Mike Oldfield's 'Tubular Bells 3' performed at the Horse Guards Parade in London.
In July 2018, Katherine performed Mozart's 'Piano Concerto in A' at St Martin In the Fields and was also the solo pianist for 'Evanescence Synthesis Live Tour 2018' with performances at the Royal Festival Hall & Eventim Apollo, London. At the same time, Katherine was the pianist for the Brian Friel play the 'Aristocrats' at the Donmar Warehouse, London.
In September 2019 Katherine was delighted to perform Gershwin's 'Rhapsody in Blue' as the soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra on board the QM2 travelling from New York to Southampton. It was so well received, she has been invited to repeat the occasion again on the return trip later this year.
Katherine has played keyboard in many West End musicals including, 'Grease', 'Jesus Christ Superstar', 'Crazy for You', 'Whistle down the Wind', 'My Fair Lady', ‘Miss Saigon’, Ingmar Bergman ‘Fanny & Alexander’ at the Old Vic and 'Pinocchio' at the National Theatre. She is currently depping on ‘Matilda the Musical' at the Cambridge Theatre, London and 'Mamma Mia!' at the Novello Theatre, London. She was the pianist for Tori Amos' musical 'The Light Princess' at the National Theatre in London. She then recorded the cast album, released in November 2015.
Katherine's most recent orchestral work has been with the RPCO, National Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and with the London Concert Orchestra accompanying Katherine Jenkins on keyboard on her 2019 'Guided Light' tour.
As well as her busy performance schedule, Katherine is a very dedicated and passionate music teacher. She has been working at her local prep school for over 14 years.
